Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker, dropping a deuce

Wait for it...

...BOOOOM!
Someone described me as 'immature' the other day.  Poo is always funny.

Chelly brossoms!

Rode clean around this splat-shaped island today, with JP as my road-wife.  Ole Curves and I, we get along.  As far as riding on Geoje vs. riding on Jeju, it's hard to compete with Jeju.  Geoje is a pretty challenging place to ride a bike, with tons of curvy steep hills, and roads that are in rough shape in a lot of places.  No real 'coastal' coast roads.  Riding coastal Jeju was mostly a stress-free larf down gorgeous and quiet dreamy lanes.
I'm currently plotting the next open mic, it's gonna be a whiz-dinger - all style, very little substance, boo-yeah!

Torsen, the wonder-torso

Good weekend.  Had a 'quiet' night in on Friday, more or less, then up early to meet up with JP for some island birding on Saturday.  More on that soon.  Birds, beer, bikes, and other badassery.  Warm out.

Apollo Mission #3: Campout in the signal-fire tower

Cold as shit up there

Cruel, cruel 6am

Daddy's tired

Good grape
This month's gathering of the full-moon-worshiping fellowship was epic.  Amadeus and I drove out to Deokpo, bristling with gear.  We rounded up a few folks and headed up a mountain overlooking the harbour.  We had a BBQ and raged all night in the (already crumbling) reconstruction of an old signal fire tower.  The Japanese are coming!  Epic.  Dark circles, still.

The things you see in Korea

"Hey cop, I am your father!", "Nooooooo!"
Hey, there's Darth Vader harassing policemen outside the cop shop.

The great duck-boat adventure

Don't stare at me with those dead fuckin' eyes
The legendary L tree
Surreal
Worst duck-boat ever
It's chelly brossom time again!
These things had dead eyes, and they squeaked.  I always pass them on the way to somewhere else, so today I stopped in the middle of nowhere, and went for a duck-boat adventure +1.  We paddled around the bend and made a daring daylight foray onto forbidden Duck-boat Island, where we discovered the legendary L tree.  There was beer, and the feeding of filthy stray animals and the such.
Spring migration has begun, but I still feel like I haven't found the Geoje honey hole yet, at least as far as passerines are concerned.  This week, this week.

Le Graf

Korean graffiti is always pretty terrible, in both planning and execution.  sex!
Y'know what's good?  The Avett Brothers.

Geoje randoms

First I tipped it over a few times, then I scruff-grabbed it.  It liked me, oh yes it did, oh yes it did!

Amadeus losing his shit at a heavy metal show in Busan

Beer pong.  Beer pong!  Beer pong?  Fuckin' Busan.

Under 'mayhem', the dictionary entry only features this picture

A few nights ago I had a dream that I saw an owl.  That's all.
I also realized that I have a reoccurring dream about my old 'Birds of Korea' guide book.  In this dream, I stumble upon inexplicably new sections in the book I've read countless times.  The new sections are filled with obscure animals, and I'm always concerned by the fact that I've never seen the new pages before, but, like most things in life, I shrug it off and amble forwards.
I went to an island this morning.  The Barn Swallows are back.  Gonna look for more owl pellets tomorrow morn.  Vaya con Dios!

Grimes - Oblivion

Jeppuh turned me on to this video.  Not normally my cuppa tea, but I'm likin' this song.  Grimes is kinda cute, too, in a psychotic ex-girlfriend sorta way.

Black Woodpigeon

On Saturday I got up real early-like and hit up a nearby island to check for anything interesting.  The Black Woodpigeon qualifies as interesting.  I'd been hoping to see one for years.  I still can't stop grinning.  Grin.

Beth Orton - She Cries Your Name

I used to have a crush on Beth Orton.  Re-crush.

Falling Rocks

Falling rocks squish adorable bear.

Worst bike rack ever

I saw more lost balls today.  Tons.  Eva Green is attractive.  I like turtles.  Woozle wuzzle

Go-Yawn Open Mic

How many South Africans does it take to screw in a light bulb?

The Geoje mascots rockin' out with their cocks out
I put together an open mic that went down last night.  It was badass.  About 40 folks showed up, and The Gyeryongsan Boys played every single song we knew.  We broke it up halfway through and had a bad joke competition.  Bad, bad jokes.  We played a bunch of drunky sing-alongs like Sweet Caroline.  Good times.
This may sound strange, but I looked up at the moon today and thought about how it was cool.  You heard it here first, folks - the moon is cool.
