Geomundo Randoms

I went to Geomundo (about two hours south of Yeosu) with Subho for some pioneer birding earlier in the month.  It's a badass little island - charming and 'slow' still, with friendly locals and plenty of excellent birding potential.  I tried to return last week, but there were no boats due to wind.  It'll be the same story this weekend.  Balls.  Oh, the Brits controlled the island for a few years in the late 19th century, calling it 'Port Stanley'.  There was a small British cemetery on the island.  Blah blah blah.

I thought of a great new name for food - 'Future Poo'.

This is the worst trip I've ever been on

This picture says it all
Vomit and life jackets, that should say it all.  Two weekends ago I was on the ferry back from Geomundo, and the winds were 45 km/hr, which made for some pretty rough seas.  It was a violent and distressing ride, to put it mildly.  The boat should not have been out in those seas, and we almost ran out of barf bags.  Koreans all around me were weeping, cowering, and puking.  It was like being in a plane crash...for 2 hours.  The life jackets and air rosaries did little to comfort me.
