Pheasant yum

When I'm not taking pictures of wild pheasants in the field (or almost squashing their sluggish asses with my scoot), I'm eating them. Went to a nearby pheasant restaurant with some friends on Friday, and I was impressed. I had been expecting some straight up BBQ, but was treated to a 'party platter' of pheasant meat. The first course was the most challenging - pheasant sushi. Raw poultry isn't something I usually froth at the mouth for, especially raw organs, but it was ok. The other pheasant dishes came out in rapid succession: pheasant pancakes, pheasant meatballs, pheasant dumplings, pheasant hot wings, and pheasant shabu shabu. No pheasant ice cream. All in all, I was pheasantly surprised.
