I've already mentioned my dislike of the scooter-unfriendly roads in Yeosu. Yeosu the city is a nice enough place, but in many ways, just another Korean city. Take a city block, insert a Face Shop, Family Mart, cell phone store, Galbi restaurant, Hof, brothel, Kimbab Heaven...copy...paste...repeat. Yeosu does have a nice harbor, and some decent beaches nearby.
Well, again, coming from Jeju, it's easy to to be picky about beaches. The one we went to a few times, Mosageum beach, was a little too garbagey for my liking. Garbage tides filled with all manner of gross flotsam seemed to wash in every hour or so, and the water itself was grey. Might have something to do with the steady fuel tanker traffic nearby. I'll say it again Jeju people - don't take Jungmun beach for granted, even though the fun police are out in force this year it seems.
